Vico Magistretti

"I like concept design, the kind which is so clear you do not need to draw it. I have passed on plenty of my projects over the phone."

Vico Magistretti (1920-2006) left a significant mark on architecture and industrial design. Much of his career was tied to Milan, with works such as the Church of Santa Maria Nascente at QT8, the Tower at Parco, and the House in Piazza San Marco.

Over the years, he received numerous accolades, including the Compasso d'Oro for his career in 1995, and participated in major international exhibitions. He was an honorary member of the Royal College of Art in London.

"Good design should last at least 50 years, better yet 100."

Vico Magistretti’s approach to design and architecture is rooted in innovation and functionality, offering solutions that combine aesthetics and practicality. His design research aims to create objects and spaces that reflect modernity and essentiality, while maintaining a strong connection to daily life and human experience.

His work has had a lasting impact, with pieces featured in permanent collections of major museums across Europe and the United States, bearing witness to a career driven by a continuous search for the balance between form, function, and beauty.
