Gianfranco Frattini

"In my design language, memory holds an important place, tied to certain expressions of the past, and to a deep appreciation for materials crafted with care and precision."

Gianfranco Frattini (1926-2004) graduated in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano. After a period in the studio of his teacher and mentor Gio Ponti, he opened his own professional practice and, within a few years, became an internationally renowned industrial designer.

In the 1950s, he was among the founders of the ADI – Association for Industrial Design. Among his numerous projects, in 1956 he designed the armchair model 849, awarded the Compasso d'Oro ADI, which is now reintroduced by Tacchini under the name Agnese, faithfully following the lines of the original design.

"Materials should be used for what they can naturally offer, without forcing their nature."

Gianfranco Frattini revolutionises interior architecture with a design that blends rigour and beauty, creating spaces where each element harmoniously integrates.

His modernist vision values innovation without ever forgetting craftsmanship, bringing to life works of rare beauty that withstand the test of time and generate lasting emotions.
