Gastone Rinaldi
Gastone Rinaldi (1920-2006) was a great enthusiast of both sport and design. After abandoning his studies in Economics and Commerce, in 1948, he took over the management of the family business with his brother Giorgio. In 1950, he began collaborating with Gio Ponti, designing chairs for the IX Milan Triennale, including the famous DU9. In subsequent years, he collaborated with prominent figures in design, such as Marco Zanuso and Carlo Mollino, and won the Compasso d'Oro ADI for the DU30 chair. In 1974, he founded his own company, Thema, where he continued to innovate in design until the company closed in 1989.
Gastone Rinaldi dedicated his career to industrial design, with particular attention to functionality and aesthetics.
His vision translates into practical, elegant, and innovative objects, also the result of collaborations with personalities such as Gio Ponti and Carlo Mollino, distinguished by the search for simple yet refined forms that respond to everyday needs without sacrificing beauty.
