Christophe Pillet
"What truly matters in design is not the object itself, but the human being who inhabits and uses it."
Christophe Pillet is one of the leading figures in French design, named “Créateur de l’année” in 1994. After earning a master’s degree at the Domus Academy in Milan, he began collaborating with Philippe Starck in Paris, before pursuing his own eclectic career, always characterised by a sober, incisive, and direct style. He works across architecture, interiors, furniture, fashion, and industrial design, and today collaborates with some of the most important brands in contemporary furniture design.
Christophe Pillet’s style is characterised by essential modernity, free from excess, and a strong narrative sense.
For him, every object is a means of telling a story: it is not the final product that interests him, but the creative process, strategy, and message that design can convey. He considers design to be a form of communication, akin to writing or cinema, where lines, materials, and colours become the vocabulary to express emotions and viewpoints.
